Terrific experience, and I am someone who has been moving around several times. Nor-Cal was very fast with responses, quote and scheduling the move. The movers were the kindest most genuinely caring team I ever encountered, they put so much care in wrapping all the items and making sure I was satisfied. They made my move so easy. Also the boxes were picked up 1 hr after I called the following day. I have experience with other moving companies and I can say that Nor-Cal is one of the best I ever used. Thank you Nor-Cal!
Nor Cal Moving should remind their employees that it's not acceptable to sexually harrass random women on the street. I was walking down the street in downtown SF and several men wearing Nor-Cal moving uniforms who were taking a break on the sidewalk made comments of a sexual nature to me as I passed by. Next time I move I don't think I'll be choosing Nor-Cal Moving!
This company failed to deliver my items in the time window that they promised. I am still waiting for my delivery and the "local company" that they are using for some reason "doesn't have my phone number". I am still waiting for my shipment even after they charged HIGH prices and guaranteed delivery to be made already.
I just watched a male truck driver harass a female bicyclist. It was vile. If this is how he treats people around him I doubt he cares about your thing. What a pig. I wish I got better pictures of the truck.
Perhaps I was premature in this review. I have a chair the movers were able to get out of my former home, but could not get into new one. (Same size door). They tell me it will $1100 to have someone else bring it into my house as it has to be disassembled.
I had worked with NorCal in the past and this was the reason i choose them for my move this time as well. The move went thru' fine, the workers who dropped by were good folks how ever, the administration dept that manages the finances are terrible to work with. They did some accounting glitch and charged me 150% higher than the original fixed bid quote on my credit card... Just by pure luck, i happened to see this on my credit card bill and tried following up multiple times asking them to correct this mistake and return the extra money they had charged me. It took them a good 3 weeks to acknowledge this problem and since then it has already been 3 more weeks and i am still waiting for getting my money back. This is a classic example of how the ground level workers are good at what they do and the rest of the operations and admin folks mess up all the good work done by rest of the folks! I am done with Norcal and never intend to make use of them for any of my move going forward. There needs to be some basic integrity with the work and the commitment shown by these folks if they need to earn a good reputation for the work they commit to.
I used Nor-Cal moving on the past weekend and they are really hard-working mover taking care ALL my items from start (packing) to the end (unloading). The leader Roberto and his team are VERY polite and would ask questions, even going to use your bathroom. Though the number of boxes is exceeding what they originally estimate, they go back to get more boxes to finish all the work. I highly recommend this company and Roberto and his team to anyone who need the moving service.
In May of 2017, I used NorCal/Allied Van Lines to move our household goods 2, 600 miles from Sacramento, Ca to our new home on the east coast. It was the worst experience imaginable. They left the part boxes in Sacramento which I'm now told are some of the most important items of any move. We are now left with a Baby Grand Piano wrapped in blankets in pieces on our living room floor because the parts to assemble them were left by the driver (who admitted it) in Sacramento. The same is true of our living room couches because the legs were in those parts boxes. They literally destroyed our beautiful 200 year old Grandfather Clock that we paid extra to have specially moved with care. It arrived broken and in pieces. And if this weren't enough they didn't removed the transit bolts from our washer and it was destroyed when we used it. I was told to file a claim with their third party claims company whom they have hired to deny or minimize customers claims. They offered us $250 dollars and told us to go away. DON't use this company.
I must admit that I'm not a customer and have not used the services from this company. Having said that, I scheduled an appointment for a free estimate. I stayed home from work, and the person that was supposed to show up never did so after waiting for over 1 hour. This is not a company I would ever want to do business with!
